Bill Whitmire, B.S. – Director of Intensive Clinical Stabilization Program

Having found recovery at the age of 19, Bill can relate particularly well to the experiences of the Gatehouse Academy residents. Bill joined the Gatehouse Academy Staff in 2001 as Teacher and was promoted to Education Director shortly afterward. One of the things that attracted Bill to Gatehouse was the focus on 12-Step recovery coupled with a realistic program that addressed the life skills and educational needs of young people in early sobriety. 

 

In 2005, Bill moved into the Residential area as Residential Director, directing and supporting residents in their day to day affairs.

 

Bill has recently been promoted to Program Director. He is responsible for the oversight of the Main Property Program in Wickenburg, AZ and the Extended Campus Programs in Fort Edward, NY and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Away from Gatehouse, Bill enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and tennis, and participating in recovery related seminars and meetings.
